3 Words to Describe My Teaching Style:
Energetic, fluid & uplifting
My music style:
I play a mix of indietronica, electropop chillwave, future bass trap, blues, techno, and atmospheric, pop-savvy house music… and the occasional 2000’s throwback or Michael Buble/John Mayer vibe. In other words, expect a blend of genres with heavy bass, soulful vibes, big drops sometimes and a sprinkle of something fun. 😊
I fly with Jaybird Because:
Jaybird’s dark room creates a safe space where you can move without comparison and fully focus inward. I feel like no matter what is happening in your life, when you are on your mat in the room you can be the truest form of yourself and don’t ever need to put on a brave face or happy face if that isn’t what you are feeling, and there is something so special about that. On top of that, the speaker quality and sound experience in the room allows you to really immerse yourself into each class, and listening to music in that way and moving to music is both therapeutic for me and just so much fun.
My journey to jaybird:
I have been teaching Pilates style classes for almost 5 years now and have my 100hr Pilates Certification with ALL Method. I discovered my love for “workout classes” during my early 20s while working to build a healthy relationship with my body and exercise and found that the best way for me to achieve this was to focus on enjoying movement and taking care of my body while building strength and endurance. I found classes and instructors I loved and always wanted to share this experience with friends. I then thought – what if instead of bringing people to share this experience, I could be one of the people creating it for them? That is what inspired me to teach. When you move with me you will find that I always emphasize moving for you, taking what you need from the class (whatever that means to you each day!), and having fun.
What MiNdfulness Means to Me:
Mindfulness to me is awareness of where you are in the present moment – in your physical space, in your body, and in your thoughts. Self reflection of how you are feeling (body/mind/heart). Acceptance for how you are feeling and holding gratitude and perspective on all of it.
words to live by:
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
