3 Words to Describe My Teaching Style:
Deeply embodied strength
My music style:
High vibe soul jams meets electronic (vocal/house/dance/tribal/trance)
I fly with Jaybird Because:
My body, heart and soul turn ON when my mind is shut OFF from the outside world; Jaybird is where all parts of myself can meet in the present moment, with love, curiosity, compassion and presence.
My journey to jaybird:
Stefanie's lifelong passion for movement started at age 5, evolving into competitive sports. She earned a Kinesiology Degree from U of T and reignited her passion for teaching diverse practices like yoga, Pilates, Lagree, and dance. A 2005 neck and wrist injury prompted a shift towards mindfulness and somatic healing practices, deepening her exploration beyond fitness. As a Holistic Movement and Embodiment Coach, Stefanie integrates somatic awareness, including Movement Medicine & Anusara Yoga therapeutics. Aligned with Jaybird, she teaches strength-based, soul-nourishing classes that regulate the nervous system for a consciously connected workout. As a Holistic Nutritionist, she emphasizes nourishing the body, mind, and soul. Her mission is to elevate consciousness, reconnect humanity with their true essence on all levels through movement and healing work.
What MiNdfulness Means to Me:
Moving mindfully is an embodied form of meditation; the awareness of threading the body mind and breath with an inward focus on taking care of myself without judgement, comparison or desire to change anything, be with myself and take care of this physical vessel, I am able to let myself go, FULLY shed what others think of me and I can simply BE myself, wild, strong, whole, happy and free!
words to live by:
“When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way.”
